好消息！应广大家长的热切要求，我们特别增设下午羽毛球俱乐部！无论您是学生还是家长，无论您的羽毛球水平如何，都欢迎加入！本俱乐部为自由练习形式，不设导师指导，大家可以自由挥拍，享受运动的乐趣，同时锻炼身体、提升球技。

学生安全提醒

John G. Diefenbaker High School 二楼班级接送学生流程

为了加强校园安全，并于放学前为John G. Diefenbaker High School二楼上课的班级保持安静良好的学习环境，我们要求家长配合并遵循以下规则：

  1. 请家长不要上二楼。
  2. 在一楼指定地点接学生放学（请向本班老师了解放学地点）。
  3. 二楼所在班级老师都将带学生到一楼指定区域放学。如果家长没有按时来接学生，老师将带学生到#121办公室。

禁止使用学校电脑

请注意， John G. Diefenbaker 高中学校的电脑仅供英文学校使用，我校学生及家长未经授权不得使用，感谢您理解与合作。

校园安全

全校所有学生，不论年级高低，上课期间不得擅自离开校园，包括 15 分钟小息时间。

对于因特殊情况需要提前离校的学生，請家長於當週週五前電郵通知老師，也可到 John G. Diefenbaker High School 办公室填写一份提前放学通知单，再由家长到课室接学生离开。

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to share that the school year is off to a strong start! Over the past month, it has been wonderful to see our students back in class and engaged in learning. Please take note of the following important reminders for October.

Thanksgiving Long Weekend

There will be no school on Saturday, October 10, 2026 for Thanksgiving.
Classes will resume on Saturday, October 17.

New Option Class 

  • Choir

Students who love music and enjoy singing are warmly invited to join our Choir! The Choir will mainly perform Chinese songs, allowing students to combine singing with Chinese language learning and improve their language skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

Our instructor has extensive experience leading choirs and will provide students with opportunities to perform, helping them build confidence and develop their stage presence.

  • Badminton Club (Afternoon)

Good news! In response to popular demand from parents, we are excited to offer an afternoon Badminton Club!

Whether you are a student or a parent, and regardless of your badminton skill level, everyone is welcome to join! This is a self practice club with no instructor, giving you the freedom to enjoy playing badminton, stay active, and improve your skills at your own pace.

Spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please refer to the attached poster for details.

We also offer a variety of specialty option classes, including Pinyin FUNdation and Wellness & Health through the Chinese Traditional Medicine. For detailed information about all of our option classes, please visit the school website:

Media Consent Form

All families are required to complete the online Media Consent Form using the link below. Please submit the form by October 12, 2026. If no response is received by this date, it will be understood that you are giving consent.

Fire Drill

Our annual fire drill took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

This practice helps ensure that all students and staff are familiar with emergency procedures and prepared for unexpected situations.

Referral Gift Card Program

Families will receive a $10 gift card for each new student referral.
Gift cards will be distributed beginning in October. Thank you for helping our community grow!

Dual Registration Gift Card

Families enrolled in both a Chinese class and an option class will also receive a $10 gift card.
Gift cards can be picked up at the JGD office (Room 121) on Saturdays, or at the Centre Street office from Tuesday to Thursday.

Student Safety Reminders

  • Pick-Up Procedures for JGD 2nd Floor Classes:
    1. Parents are not permitted upstairs.
    2. Pick up students at the designated meeting area on the 1st floor.
    3. Teachers will escort students; any late pickups will be taken to the JGD office (Room 121).

  • Leaving Campus: Students are not permitted to leave school property during class or recess.

  • Computer Use: Computers at JGD are for the English school only. TCA students and families are not permitted to use them.
  • Early Dismissal: For students who need to leave school early due to special circumstances, parents are asked to email the teacher by Friday of the same week. Alternatively, parents may visit the office at John G. Diefenbaker High School to complete an Early Dismissal Notification Form. The parent will then need to pick up the student from the classroom.

Chinese Students Essay Contest

The 27th World Chinese Students Essay Contest is now accepting submissions.

The Chinese Academy sincerely invites our students to participate and showcase their Chinese learning achievements on this platform while sharing warm stories of friendship.

Students are asked to email their submissions to their teacher by November 14, 2026.
