“友谊杯”中文演讲比赛喜报

中国驻卡尔加里总领事馆主办的2025年“友谊杯”中文演讲比赛于10月12日圆满落幕，我校学子在赛场上的卓越风采与杰出的语言才华取得了令人瞩目的成绩，分别荣获中学组冠军、季军及优秀奖。在此，谨向参与比赛的学生致以热烈的祝贺！同时，对一直以来给予信任与支持的各位家长表示最衷心的感谢！

和平纪念日假期

2025年11月8日（星期六）为和平纪念日假期，不用上课。所有课程将于11月15日（星期六）照常进行。

“羽你同行” 羽毛球活动

感谢各位对“羽你同行”羽毛球活动的热情支持！我们很高兴地通知大家，目前本次活动名额已满，现已停止接受新报名。

 

为确保活动顺利进行，请已报名的参与者注意以下事项：

 

  • 请穿着室内运动鞋入场，现场工作人员将在门口查验，未符合要求者将无法进入场地。
  • 仅限已报名者参与活动。如家长也希望上场打球，也需完成报名。因名额已满，目前无法新增报名，未报名者不可上场。

 

美劳比赛

为庆祝亚省中文学校成立三十周年，我校将于2025年11月1日及15日（星期六）在课堂上举办“三十华章，童心共绘”“我与亚省中文学校共成长”美劳创作比赛，诚邀幼儿园至六年级的同学及家长参与，用艺术创作共庆母校华诞！请1-6年级学生自备蜡笔、彩色铅笔、固体胶等手工用品。获奖作品将于12月初在JGD高中一楼大厅展出，并将收录于我校30周年纪念年鉴。

家长课堂参观时段安排如下：

  • 幼儿园（上午班）：11:30 – 11:45
  • 幼儿园（下午班）：15:30 – 15:45
  • 小学部（上午班）：11:40 – 11:55
  • 小学部（下午班）：15:40 – 15:55

 

第一学期考试安排

本学期考试定于12月6日星期六举行，请协助孩子合理安排复习：

  • 如学生无法参加考试，请务必于11月27日星期三前电邮通知老师及学校办公室
  • 提前考试：11月29日星期六
  • 延期考试：12月13日星期六（最终成绩将扣除15%）
  • 提前或延期考试须提供有效事由证明

 

校园管理与安全提醒

 

  • 为维护校园整洁，请学生携带室内鞋
  • JGD二楼班级在一楼指定区域放学，请家长不要上二楼
  • 上课期间学生不得擅自离校，如需早退，家长须提前至办公室填写《早退单》或通过邮件书面报备
  • JGD校内电脑仅供英文学校使用，请勿擅自使用

Friendship Cup Chinese Speech Contest – Congratulations to Our Winners!

On October 12, 2025, students from The Chinese Academy proudly participated in the “Friendship Cup” Chinese Speech Contest. Our students impressed the judges with their eloquence, confidence, and creativity, earning outstanding results.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication to Chinese language learning and for representing The Chinese Academy with excellence. Congratulations to all participants and teachers for their hard work and achievement!

Remembrance Day Long Weekend

There will be no school on Saturday, November 8, 2025 for Remembrance Day Holiday.
Classes will resume on Saturday, November 15.

TCA Badminton Club

Thank you for your enthusiastic support of the TCA Badminton Club! We are happy to share that the club has reached full capacity. At this time, no additional participants can be registered.

As we prepare for our sessions, please carefully note the following reminders:

  • Indoor, non-marking shoes are required for all participants.
    Our supervisor will check at the door. No admission will be allowed without proper footwear.
  • Only registered participants may play.
    We kindly remind parents that if you wish to play, you must also be registered.
    The club is currently full, so new registrations cannot be added at this time.
    There will be no play allowed without registration.

Arts & Crafts Competition

The Chinese Academy will be holding its annual Arts & Crafts Competition for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 on Saturday, November 1 and November 15. All elementary students are asked to bring their own colouring pencils for the competition.

As part of this special event, we warmly invite parents to join your child’s class during the last 15 minutes of class to share a supportive moment together and write a short message of encouragement for your child. Let us work together to create an environment filled with appreciation and positivity.

Parent Classroom Visit Schedule:

  • Kindergarten (Morning): 11:30 – 11:45
  • Kindergarten (Afternoon): 3:30 – 3:45
  • Elementary (Morning): 11:40 – 11:55
  • Elementary (Afternoon): 3:40 – 3:55

Winning entries and class finalists will be displayed outside the Saturday Office (Room 121, John G. Diefenbaker High School) in early December and will also be featured in our 30th Anniversary Yearbook.

First Semester Exam – Saturday December 6

All students will take their first semester exams on Saturday, December 6. Please encourage your student to dedicate time to study for this important assessment.

  • Unable to attend? Notify your teacher and the office by Wednesday, November 27.
  • Early exams: Saturday, November 29
  • Deferred exams: Saturday, December 13 (final marks reduced by 15%)
  • Requirements for early/deferred exams: Valid reason or proof of absence must be provided.

Indoor Shoes

The Chinese Academy would like to remind students to bring indoor shoes to maintain a clean campus building. Let’s all do our part to keep the campus buildings clean.

Referral Gift Card Program

Families will receive a $10 gift card for each new student referral.

Gift cards can be picked up at our office. Thank you for helping our community grow!

Dual Registration Gift Card

Families enrolled in both a Chinese class and an option class will also receive a $10 gift card.

Gift cards can be picked up at the JGD office (Room 121) on Saturdays, or at the Centre Street office from Tuesday to Thursday during office hours.

Register for the Second Semester

The second semester begins on January 10, 2026, with a registration fee of $230 for Chinese classes. Students currently enrolled in the 2025-2026 school year do not need to register again. Families who have not yet joined our programs are invited to register now to secure their spot.

Student Safety Reminders

  • Pick-Up Procedures for JGD 2nd Floor Classes:
    1. Parents are not permitted upstairs.
    2. Pick up students at the designated meeting area on the 1st floor.
    3. Teachers will escort students; any late pickups will be taken to the JGD office (Room 121).
  • Leaving Campus: Students are not permitted to leave school property during class time or recess. If a student needs to leave early, parents must obtain an Early Dismissal Slip from the office or email the teacher before the student is allowed to leave. This ensures the safety and accountability of all students on campus.
  • Computer Use: Computers at JGD are for the English school only. TCA students and families are not permitted to use them.
