CBE教师罢工及我校课程安排

 

悉知阿尔伯塔省教师工会已投票否决相关协议，并计划于10月6日（星期一）发起罢工。我们已与CBE租赁部门进行沟通，并得到确认，此次罢工行动将不影响我校的正常教学。因此，10月4日（星期六）所有课程将照常进行。

保障学生学习进度与教学质量是我们一贯的首要任务。我们将持续关注此事进展，并及时告知您任何最新动态。

 

JGD捐赠活动对停车场的影响

 

JGD运动队将于10月4日上午9点至12点，在公交站旁我们两个校区之间的停车场举行“瓶子捐赠活动”。届时现场将有卡车与帐篷用于收集瓶罐，该区域停车可能会受影响，请家长提前规划，建议使用其他停车场并注意安全。

感恩节长周末

 

2025年10月11日（星期六）为感恩节假期，10月18日（星期六）恢复上课。

学校拍照日于10月18日（星期六）进行。这些照片将用于学生档案，并在获得许可后用于宣传或社区活动。请务必在此日期前填写媒体同意书，以便您的孩子可以参与拍照。

学生安全提醒

John G. Diefenbaker High School 二楼班级接送学生流程

为了加强校园安全，并于放学前为John G. Diefenbaker High School二楼上课的班级保持安静良好的学习环境，我们要求家长配合并遵循以下规则：

  1. 请家长不要上二楼。
  2. 在一楼指定地点接学生放学（请向本班老师了解放学地点）。
  3. 二楼所在班级老师都将带学生到一楼指定区域放学。如果家长没有按时来接学生，老师将带学生到#121办公室。

禁止使用学校电脑

请注意， John G. Diefenbaker 高中学校的电脑仅供英文学校使用，我校学生及家长未经授权不得使用，感谢您理解与合作。

校园安全

全校所有学生，不论年级高低，上课期间不得擅自离开校园，包括 15 分钟小息时间。

对于因特殊情况需要提前离校的学生，家长必须在位于 John G. Diefenbaker High School 办公室填写一份提前放学通知单，再由家长到课室接学生离开。

We are pleased to share that the school year is off to a strong start! Over the past month, it has been wonderful to see our students back in class and engaged in learning. Please take note of the following important reminders for October.

Teacher Strike Update

The ATA has voted to reject the proposed agreement, allowing strike action to begin on Monday, October 6, 2025. We have confirmed with the CBE Rentals Department that this will not affect The Chinese Academy. All classes, including Saturday, October 4, will proceed as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as needed.

Parking Lot Affected by Bottle Drive – Saturday, October 4

The JGD Sports Teams will be hosting a Bottle Drive on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot located between our two campuses, next to the bus stop. A truck and tents will be set up on-site to collect bottles and cans. Please note that parking in the area may be affected during this time. We kindly ask families to plan ahead. We recommend using other parking lots and paying attention to safety.

Thanksgiving Long Weekend

There will be no school on Saturday, October 11, 2025 for Thanksgiving.
Classes will resume on Saturday, October 18.

School Photo Day

We are planning to hold our School Photo Day on Saturday, October 18. These photos may be used for school records and, with permission, for promotional or community purposes. To ensure your child can participate, please complete the Media Consent Form before this date. Thank you for helping us keep our records up to date.

Media Consent Form

All families are required to complete the online Media Consent Form by October 18, 2025.

If no response is received by the deadline, consent will be assumed.

Fire Drill

Our annual fire drill will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

This practice helps ensure that all students and staff are familiar with emergency procedures and prepared for unexpected situations.

Referral Gift Card Program

Families will receive a $10 gift card for each new student referral.

Gift cards will be distributed beginning in October. Thank you for helping our community grow!

Dual Registration Gift Card

Families enrolled in both a Chinese class and an option class will also receive a $10 gift card.

Gift cards can be picked up at the JGD office (Room 121) on Saturdays, or at the Centre Street office from Tuesday to Thursday.

Student Safety Reminders

 

  • Pick-Up Procedures for JGD 2nd Floor Classes:
    1. Parents are not permitted upstairs.
    2. Pick up students at the designated meeting area on the 1st floor.
    3. Teachers will escort students; any late pickups will be taken to the JGD office (Room 121).
  • Leaving Campus: Students are not permitted to leave school property during class or recess.
  • Computer Use: Computers at JGD are for the English school only. TCA students and families are not permitted to use them.
